HISTORY
Founded by Donald Wentzel in 1958, Maple Leaf Farms, Inc. started out as a small duck operation in Northern Indiana (U.S.) dedicated to producing products with "quality you can count on.” Wentzel was convinced that the U.S. duck industry could make significant progress if properly managed. Doing just that, the company has grown domestically and internationally over the last 60 years with premium quality, innovation and brand integrity. Maple Leaf Farms is extremely proud of our heritage and the history we have made to become the leader in the global duck industry.
FAMILY HERITAGE
Although founder Donald Wentzel passed away in 1968, his son-in-law Terry Tucker carried on the tradition. Today, the fourth generation has joined the family business and together the Tucker family continues to set the direction for the company based on its values and commitment to family, community and, of course, quality products.
INDUX SYSTEM INTRODUCED
The INDUX® System was introduced to international customers in 2009. It is the only globally available vertically integrated duck production system offering products and services designed to optimize duck performance and reduce production costs.
